Fish will only feed and grow if they are content. Fish farming requires special expertise which can only be acquired through time and experience. In addition to optimum conditions, the high quality of Taimen Group fish is derived from the high expertise of our personnel. Our experienced plant managers know how to interpret the condition of the fish and to anticipate factors, such as changes in the weather, that affect their daily management. The well-being of the fish is maintained and monitored seven days a week, including evening and night tending as conditions require. While many of our staff are qualified fish processing technicians or ichthyologists, their most important asset is their shared genuine passion for fish and for working close to nature. Taimen Group has long traditions in training new staff using the 'journeyman to master' principle. The passion and expertise of our employees is reflected in our high-quality fish breeding process. Ensuring ideal conditions for the fish right from the roe stage guarantees that the consumers gets the best possible product – healthy, clean fish for the counter. Sound origin – a key to high qualityNearly all salmonids, from rainbow trout to Atlantic salmon, are bred fish. Reared without the influence of the Gulf Stream, Finnish rainbow trout achieve catch weight significantly slower than Atlantic salmon. This gives the meat its superior flavour, firmness and low fat percentage. Fish produced locally is also an environmentally friendly choice. Short transport distances minimise the environmental impact and ensure the freshness of the end product. Our fish is delivered to Finnish shops within 24 hours of catching. A high-quality fishmonger will always indicate the origin of the fish and the time of catch. |
